GALERIE INTERNATIONAL IS UNDERGOING RENOVATIONS.
HERE IS WHAT’S LEFT OF THE LEAKAGES.
Galerie was initiated with a spell in 2014, when Simon Asencio and Adriano Wilfert Jensen announced themselves as Galerie, an immaterial gallery for immaterial artworks. The mission of Galerie is to promote immaterial objecthood: works that cannot be reduced to an object or to the documentation of an action. Galerie circulates artworks by representing them as well as offering them for sale. In collaboration with the artists, economical formats and “representations” are tailored to each artwork, offering unique opportunities for the artwork to extend and disseminate on its own terms.
On one hand, Galerie seeks to build a business providing economical sustainability for the artists it represents, on the other hand Galerie is thought as a platform for conversation between different partners of the art field, from performing arts to visual arts: curators, critics, artists, collectors, gallery owners. As an immaterial gallery, Galerie does not have a location, it occurs in existing contexts and venues, such as art fairs, festivals, galleries, and institutions.
Since 2020, Galerie has been undergoing renovations and has shifted focus to publishing in order to reflect on modes of conservation, circulation and inscription of immaterial practices within the format of the artist monograph. This includes Krõõt Juurak - Animal, Family, Bad Mood Audience, Sleeping Bad Mood (2020) and As If They Had A Spirit (2025).
Galerie is sponsored by Herr von Eden.
